Titel

Statistical physics of logarithmic potentials

Abstract

Logarithmic potentials occur in many areas in physics and chemistry. We review their unusual properties that lie beyond the statistical mechanics of Boltzmann and Gibbs. These include anomalous diffusion, ergodicity breaking, nonstationarity, and multifractality. We discuss in particular generalizations of the Wiener-Khinchin relation and the importance of infinite invariant densities.
