Subproject D.5
Aggregation and Multiscale Techniques
How can systems be improved by field-based representations?
|
Aggregation is a method where particle-based systems are replaced by field-based representations. Instead of individual particles, different physical quantities are stored at each location in space. In this way, not atoms or molecules are evaluated, but for example density, temperature or particle velocities within a system.
This approach makes it possible to employ different visualization techniques and allows to analyze and present complex data sets.
