The SFB 716 of the University Stuttgart developes new computer simulation tools to study highly complex processes in natural sciences and technology. The main focus lies in the study of the particle nature of these processes. Depending on the problem, the size of the particles range from atoms to complex molecules to sand grains. For each individual particle, the trajectory is determined under the influence of the interation with each other particle and additional external forces.
